Plastering Specialist

Gursarb Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Plastering Specialist to join our team. As a Plastering Specialist, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints. You will also apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster, clean and prepare surfaces, and cure freshly plastered surfaces.

The ideal candidate will have experience with plastering and will be able to estimate costs and materials. You will work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms. You will also read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
• Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
• Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
• Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
• Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
• Estimate costs and materials
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications

Requirements:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience an asset
• Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Work Term: Permanent
• Work Language: English
• Hours: 35 hours per week
