Job Title: Financial Analyst Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst Intern to join our Finance Team at University Health Network. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, and planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the monthly forecasting process by generating key financial reports, templates, and models.
  • Monitor bank account balances and escalate to senior team members if a transfer is necessary.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations to identify differences between financial records and bank balances.
  • Maintain fixed asset depreciation schedules for computer hardware and office equipment monthly.
  • Support the accounts payable function by processing payments, maintaining vendor information, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Assist with purchase card reviews and processing for payment.
  • Prepare and post journal entries along with other month-end closing processes.
  • Support the external audit by retrieving documents, compiling reports, and answering questions posed by auditors.
  • Support internal stakeholders with inquiries or report requests.
Requirements:
  • Enrolled or recently completed a university or college degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Experience in an office environment, particularly in an accounting/finance function.
  • Understanding of intermediate accounting principles.
  • Intermediate level ability in Microsoft Excel (Lookup formulas, Pivot Tables).
  • High attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to handle competing tasks from various stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to respond to inquiries.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
