BMO Financial Group is a leading financial institution that offers a wide range of banking and investment products. We are currently seeking a Mortgage Business Development Specialist to join our team.

Job Description

The Mortgage Business Development Specialist will be responsible for cultivating relationships with referral networks and identifying sales opportunities to drive business growth. This role requires strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with referral sources to generate leads and increase BMO's market share.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and sales strategies to drive business results.
  • Identify and pursue cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for existing customers.
  • Serve as a customer advocate during application and processing activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through responsive communication and expert advice.
  • Partner with branch teams to deliver targeted marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Resolve or escalate issues to meet customer expectations.
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of self-management and teamwork, personal lending, relationship sales, and management.
  • Familiarity with personal banking, investments, trust services, business and commercial lending, and cash management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
