Dietitian - Clinical Nutrition Specialist

The Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health team is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our clinical nutrition department. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will provide expert guidance on diet and nutrition to patients, families, and communities.

This role requires a strong understanding of nutrition care principles and the ability to apply them in a variety of settings. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-informed nutrition plans that support patient health and well-being.

• Provide comprehensive nutrition assessments and counseling services to patients and families
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans that align with patient goals and needs
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless coordination of care and effective communication
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in nutrition care and apply new knowledge to improve patient outcomes
• Participate in education and training programs to enhance skills and competencies

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition or equivalent degree
• Dietetic internship program completion
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a registered Dietitian
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
