Project Engineer or Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer or Technologist to join our Richmond, BC team in our Automation & Digitalization division. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality electrical and control engineering projects that improve plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers.

About the Role

This position will involve collaborating with customers and coworkers to solve operational challenges and support system upgrade projects. You will audit industrial facilities, develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades, and prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical and control systems for industrial facilities
  • Collaborate with customers and coworkers to solve operational challenges and support system upgrade projects
  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation
  • Complete electrical, control, and instrumentation system design, including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems
  • Design control strategies to optimize performance and program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering (or similar)
  • Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset
  • Mining and/or chemical industries an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%)
