Senior Director of Platform Engineering

Broadridge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Platform Engineering to lead the development and execution of our platform's backend strategy. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for driving collaboration on architectural decisions and technical strategies aligned with long-term platform goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and nurture a Community of Practice for backend developers, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill development.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and front-end engineers to define and refine the platform's backend requirements and architecture.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in performance optimization, security, and maintainability.
- Architect, design, and develop robust, maintainable, and scalable RESTful API and data exchange solutions using the latest technologies and best practices.
- Proven experience as a backend engineer with a strong track record of leading and mentoring teams.
- Experience managing other developers, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
- Extensive experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
- Strong understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or similar API development.
