Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, this role will provide support to senior designers in ongoing projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to translate CAD data, read and decipher GD&T prints, and prepare technical drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of mechanical design, including creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using CAD.
  • Translate and organize CAD data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Read and decipher GD&T prints to inform design decisions.
  • Prepare and interpret technical drawings, calculations, customer standards, and specifications.
  • Create mechanical designs for small to medium-sized tooling, adhering to company and ISO standards.
  • Generate and organize necessary raw materials and purchase item BOMs.
  • Detailing and surfacing on medium to large-sized tools.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all company and ISO standards are met.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent certificate (GED) is required.
  • Post-secondary education or certification in a related field is preferred.
  • 2-5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
  • Solid skills in CAD, with a strong understanding of design principles.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
