We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining life support equipment, including invasive and non-invasive ventilators and anaesthetic gas machines.
Key Responsibilities• Operate and maintain life support equipment, including ventilators and anaesthetic gas machines
• Perform diagnostic testing, including spirometry and arterial blood gases
• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue oxygen therapy as needed
• Respond to cardiac arrest codes and high-risk births for airway maintenance and resuscitation
• Perform intubation as ordered by the physician
• Teach patients and staff throughout the hospital as required
• Participate in departmental quality assurance activities
• Comply with occupational health and safety requirements
• Assist with departmental policy and procedure development and review
QualificationsWe are looking for a candidate who is:
- Registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
- Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experienced in critical care, preferably with three years of experience
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC) holder
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certified
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communicator with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Able to work effectively in a busy clinical environment
