Job Summary:

Mainline Construction is seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our team. As a Loader Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a loader, ensuring the smooth execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent accidents.
  • Understand and follow directions from supervisors regarding work area requirements and project objectives.
  • Operate loader controls to lower and tilt buckets, drive forward to force buckets into bulk material, and dump material, while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
  • Ensure a sound understanding of ground disturbance issues and operate a loader on public or private roadways with proper awareness.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the loader.
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of a loader.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and perform construction-related duties as required.

Technical Requirements:

  • Possess knowledge of loaders and other heavy equipment, including road construction materials, processes, and industry requirements.
  • Hold a valid Ground Disturbance certificate.
  • Understand computerized controls and electronics.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school or equivalent, with experience in related construction activities.
  • 2–3 years' experience operating a loader is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Operator's License; clean Driver Abstract.
  • Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes, and industry requirements.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Valid Ground Disturbance certificate.
