Key Responsibilities- Collect and Analyze Medical Information
You will collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals to identify diseases and injuries. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will enable you to make informed decisions about patient care.
Examine Patients and Develop Treatment PlansYou will examine patients' health conditions to identify diseases and injuries, and develop treatment plans to address their needs. Your expertise in family medicine will enable you to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
Prescribe and Administer MedicationsYou will prescribe and administer medications and treatments as necessary to promote patient health and wellness. Your knowledge of pharmacology and medical procedures will ensure that patients receive safe and effective care.
Consult with Other Medical ProfessionalsYou will consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Your ability to communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals will enable you to provide seamless care to patients.
Advise Patients on Health CareYou will advise patients on health care and wellness, and provide education on healthy habits and disease prevention. Your expertise in family medicine will enable you to provide patients with the knowledge and support they need to maintain good health.
Coordinate Patient CareYou will coordinate patient care, including ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary. Your ability to manage patient care will ensure that patients receive timely and effective treatment.
Requirements- Education
You must have a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, or equivalent experience.
Certifications and LicensesYou must be certified by the College of Family Physicians and licensed by provincial or territorial authorities.
ExperienceYou must have at least 1 year of experience in family medicine, with a strong understanding of patient care and medical procedures.
