Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution and geomatics operations including:

  • Providing leadership to technical staff within the Ottawa, ON Geomatics team and promoting a health and safety focused mindset, resource management processes, recruitment, career development, coaching, and mentoring, and leadership development.
  • Leading and managing land surveying projects with support from junior professionals and peers on the team.
  • Developing and maintaining industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/team partners, and potential recruits.
  • Leading and coordinating business development efforts and proposals.
  • Assisting in the development of the annual business plan and budget for the group.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A thorough understanding of the land surveying industry in Ontario, particularly key business and project drivers for developing opportunities with private industry and all levels of government.
  • Strong leadership and business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base within a client account management framework.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills with experience delivering high-quality presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Solid understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Meeting and exceeding all AOLS Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability and willingness to travel within Ontario for planned meetings/conferences.
