Job Summary

As a Department Manager at H&M, you will play a critical role in driving sales and profit growth in your assigned department. You will be responsible for leading a team of sales advisors and visual merchandisers to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Profit:
    • Analyze and follow up on sales and profit key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department, working closely with visual merchandisers to maximize selling opportunities.
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, including optimizing store operations, visual merchandising, and customer engagement.
    • Collaborate with the store management team to ensure effective scheduling, resource allocation, and commercial activities that drive sales and customer satisfaction.
    • Lead by example, ensuring that H&M customer service standards are consistently delivered through active coaching and mentoring.
  • People and Teams:
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of sales advisors and visual merchandisers, aligned with H&M's best practices.
    • Evaluate and manage team performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development plans to drive improvement and growth.
    • Communicate business performance, company culture, and training focuses to the store team through regular meetings and updates.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety, legal, and security requirements, maintaining a safe and secure work environment for employees and customers.
    • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including time-off requests, pay, terminations, and corrective actions, in accordance with H&M policies and applicable laws.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    • 1-2+ years of transferable experience in a retail or sales environment.
    • Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds and stand for long periods.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and counsel staff.
    • Open availability, including evenings and weekends, with the ability to travel for training and support.
