Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Assistant I to join our team at Camrose. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality service to our clients in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure, handle, process, dispatch, and test specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform various laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, and report results to clients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory services.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Recent venipuncture experience is required.
  • Three years of recent and related experience as a Laboratory Assistant performing phlebotomy is preferred.
  • ECG experience in a community services environment is preferred, with an ECG certificate being an asset.
