At Emterra Environmental, we are seeking a skilled Millwright Specialist to join our team. As a Millwright, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment. This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek, requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent experience in the field.

Work Site Environment

The work site environment is noisy, with potential exposure to odors, confined spaces, and dusty conditions. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions, repairing or replacing defective machinery parts, and fabricating parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup. You will also be responsible for operating machining tools to fabricate parts, installing machinery and equipment, and reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and instruct apprentices in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup
  • Estimate costs and materials for repairs and maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
  • Install machinery and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
  • Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW) certification
  • Experience with conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, pumps and compressors, and welding equipment
  • Knowledge of green economy sector and start-up and testing processes
  • Criminal record check
  • Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, and confined space environment
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
