Server Job Description

At Boston Pizza, we are seeking a skilled Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our guests have a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide guests through the menu, answer questions, and make recommendations.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Ensure that all guests benefit from current promotions.
  • Assist host or hostess by answering phones and greeting guests.
  • Perform various guest services, including taking orders and serving food and beverages.
  • Collect payments from guests in a timely manner.
  • Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
  • Stock service areas with supplies.
  • Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Customer service skills – able to exceed guest expectations.
  • Previous serving experience is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certified or be willing to become certified.
