The On-Call Elementary Teacher will provide educational support to students in grades K-7, carrying out daily plans set by the regular classroom teacher. This may include planning and assessing students for extended leave, ensuring a culturally appropriate and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform the regular duties of an Elementary Classroom Teacher, including lesson and curriculum development and delivery
- Support the student-centered learning program, integrating students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner
- Supervise students during classroom time, field trips, and after-school activities
- Implement positive discipline and ensure a safe and secure learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete student report cards and interim reports
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent
- Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to teach at an elementary level
