**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team in providing outpatient assessment and treatment to individuals who have come into conflict with the legal/justice system.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will work under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and provide clinical assessment and treatment in a variety of areas, including general, domestic violence, and sexual violence offenses, cognitive functioning, and behavioral assessment and screening.

You will also provide short-term support, such as supportive counseling, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, or other types of counseling as needed for stabilization. Additionally, you may provide consultation to members of the interdisciplinary team and to outside professionals and agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.
  • Use a variety of treatment modalities, including individual, family, and group therapy, to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
  • Work both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Prepare reports to the legal system, including court reports for pre-sentence disposition.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialization), Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or Psychiatric Nursing, including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy.
  • Active or eligible registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
