About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery team at Sechelt Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and healthcare teams, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
- Participate in discharge planning, providing education and support to clients and their families to ensure a smooth transition to community care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of life for clients and their families.
- Document care provided, responding to incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility located in Sechelt, British Columbia, serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Our hospital provides a range of services, including emergency care, renal program, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, and imaging services.
Qualifications
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to designated client group.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement care plans.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to unexpected events, problem-solve, set priorities, and deal with conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing).
- Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively, including the ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
