Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join the Urgent Primary Care team at the Central Community Health Centre in North Vancouver, BC.

The successful candidate will perform registration and clerical support functions for the Primary Care Clinic, supporting patients and families who require high-priority care within 24 hours.

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

About the Role

This role is part of the Vancouver Community of Care (CoC) service delivery model, working in support of the primary care network and in accordance with VCH policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have Grade 12, graduation from a Medical Office Assistant program, and one year of recent, related clinical medical office support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Perform registration and clerical support functions for the Primary Care Clinic
  • Support patients and families who require high-priority care within 24 hours
  • Work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication skills
Requirements
  • Grade 12, graduation from a Medical Office Assistant program
  • One year of recent, related clinical medical office support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Business writing skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic medical tests and accurately record results in medical files
