Training Stylist

Role Overview

As a Stylist in Training with First Choice Haircutters, you'll embark on an exciting journey to develop your skills and expertise in the world of cosmetology. This 90-day temporary position offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced stylists and managers, while delivering exceptional customer service across all channels of communication.

Job Responsibilities

- Observe and learn from senior stylists and managers to understand the ins and outs of running a successful salon.
- Greet customers, answer phone calls, and provide a warm smile that's your logo.
- Maintain a clean and organized salon environment, adhering to safety standards.

Career Advancement

As a Stylist in Training, you may be eligible for promotion to the Stylist position once you've obtained your license. To be considered, you must apply for the Stylist position with Supercuts and meet the necessary qualifications.

Requirements

- Hold a valid license in your applicable state of employment.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform the duties required by your state's license, including cutting, styling, coloring, waxing, and washing/perm hair with or without accommodations.

What We're Looking For

- Recent graduates from an accredited cosmetology school, with the necessary licenses to perform salon services within 90 days of hire date.
- Excellent judgment and time management skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic salon environment.
- Strong communication skills, including customer service, teamwork, and management interaction.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and data entry.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements

- Comfortable lifting up to 10 lbs. to stock retail shelves, occasionally lifting 10-25 lbs. to assist with unloading monthly product shipments.
- On your feet for most of the day.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
- Willingness to travel for mandatory meetings and training sessions, including overnight trips.
