The University Health Network, a leading institution in patient care and research, seeks a skilled Nurse Practitioner-Red Blood Cell Disorders to join their esteemed team.
About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, offering a competitive salary of $97,578 - $121,972 per annum. As part of the Red Blood Cell Program, the successful candidate will provide expert care for outpatients with hereditary red blood cell disorders, including Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate clinical decisions and manage acute/chronic illness with autonomy and expertise.
- Collect and interpret data on patient health, determining diagnoses and developing treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development.
- Engage in research activities, education, and professional development.
- Provide leadership and consultative services within the healthcare community.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Masters Degree Program in Nursing.
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a NP.
- Lived experience as a member of an equity-seeking group is an asset.
- Demonstrated expertise as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Three to five years nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Nursing experience in acute and chronic pain management preferred.
- Evidence of professional malpractice insurance.
- Knowledge of data management programs an asset.
