Software Development Manager

As a Software Development Manager at Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the development and maintenance of our ERP system. Your primary goal will be to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Leadership: Develop and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Project Management: Plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Software Development: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architecture, product management, and infrastructure, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of projects.
- Post-secondary degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with application software development.
- Knowledge of software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience leading full-stack teams with a minimum of 5 direct reports.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers in all aspects of their engineering skill-set.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Agile methods and DevOps.
- Proficiency in CI/CD principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of architecture patterns and design patterns.
- D365 F&O and CE, DAX experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
