Nuclear Safety Engineer

**Job Overview:**
Ontario Power Generation Inc. is seeking a strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Nuclear Safety Engineer - Project Coordinator.
This position reports to the Manager of Engineering and is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand schedules, finances, and performance for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform safety analysis, including participation in multi-disciplinary projects, and manage the link between design basis, safety analysis, and operation of the station.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineering and technical specialists to support the operation of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Develop and execute projects in compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Coordinate specification requirements, arrange necessary changes, and coordinate technical work as required in major work areas.
- Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems, and coordinate technical work as required in support of commissioning, operation, and maintenance of facilities.
- Perform reactor fuelling analysis and reactor physics assessments to support operations of reactors.
Required Qualifications:
- 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in a nuclear setting.
- Experience in managing regulatory and licensing issues within a nuclear safety context.
- Knowledge and experience in Safe Operating Envelope (SOE), Thermal Hydraulic Analysis, Safety Report preparation, Heat Sinks Assessments, Operational Safety Reports (OSRs), Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA), unavailability models, and understanding of Components & Systems importance to safety is an asset.
- Knowledge to use CAFTA, FTREX, GOTHIC, Phoenix would be considered an asset.
- Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage interrelationships of various internal and external groups to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements.

Work Arrangements: This position will be temporarily based in Pickering, ON until moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario in Summer 2025.
