About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our ad serving team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and owning Tier 1 services that determine eligibility for an ad to be served.

Your primary focus will be on working with multiple software engineers and other team members, Product and Program Managers to design and develop new ways of providing exciting and compelling experiences for our advertisers.

You will measure your success by the quality of your execution, the pace of innovation you help drive, and the increased satisfaction you deliver to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex customer and advertiser experiences
  • Advise senior leadership of technical opportunities and pitfalls to ensure long-term rapid delivery of features
  • Lead and inspire teammates to raise the standards in the quality of the software they build
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
About the Team

The ad serving team is responsible for powering a low-latency, high-scale ad serving workflow for the largest Amazon Advertising product - Sponsored Products.

We use technologies like EC2, Fargate, Lambda, SQS, ElasticCache, S3, etc. to power the platform, and our team owns the platform and the data required to serve ads.

We are looking for a talented individual who can help us drive innovation and deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
