Global Shopping Experience Developer

Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC - K03 is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer II, Core Consumables Shopping to deliver a world-class shopping experience on Amazon.com.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, based on industry standards in Canada. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including medical and dental insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
Job Description
In this role, you will work on a variety of strategic projects for the consumables customer experience across baby, beauty, grocery, and health and personal care in a multi-billion dollar category. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and developing new features and capabilities to enhance the shopping experience on Amazon.com. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. You should also have experience programming with at least one software programming language, such as Java or JavaScript. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles. A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with experience building experiences on mobile devices, whether HTML or native (iOS or Android). You should also have excellent knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle. Familiarity with web standards and protocols, such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and socket APIs, is also a plus. Outstanding written, presentation, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
