Job Title: ShelterCare Manager

House of Friendship of Kitchener is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ShelterCare Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our ShelterCare program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and develop a team of supervisors and staff to provide strength-based, person-focused care to program participants.
  2. Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safe and healthy operation of the program.
  3. Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to ensure the program is meeting the needs of the community.
  4. Manage program budgets, resources, and personnel to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Requirements:
  1. University degree in Social Work, Counselling, or related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a residential care setting.
  3. Advanced knowledge of psychoactive substances, problematic substance use, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented interventions.
  4. Experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  5. Strong leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
