Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician, you will provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This is a per diem night shift position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries and identifying patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of patient groups and active milieu assessment while assigned to checks, particularly attuned to safety concerns.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide support as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
