The Cyber Security Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in the Enterprise Risk Management team at Munich Re, serving as the second line of defense for Cyber Security. The focus is on covering Life and Health North America (LHNA) entities, supporting the identification, prioritization, communication, and monitoring of cyber security risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the implementation of Munich Re's Information Security Management (ISM) policies and guidelines, providing feedback to the VP ERM and Cluster ISO on adaptations to the IS Strategy, ISM Policy, and Guidelines.
  2. Prioritize and execute initiatives for Cyber Security focusing on Life and Health North America.
  3. Support local data protection initiatives such as data masking, unstructured data security, access management, access reduction, Data leakage Prevention alert investigations, etc.
  4. Cyber risk dashboard coordination, update, and reporting to key stakeholders.
  5. Execution of ad hoc cyber risk assessments.
  6. Support client security requests.
  7. Support with data flow discovery and data residency.
  8. Support project risk assessments.
  9. Local threat detection and industry data breach tracking.
  10. Proactive participation in risk and security forums and other relevant industry communities.
  11. Monitoring of the cyber security and regulatory landscape.
  12. Support compliance with regulatory requirements and regulatory audits.
  13. Support Third Party Risk Management activities.
  14. Alignment between security and business strategy.
  15. Communication, enforcement, and update of local and Global Cyber Risk policies and guidelines.
  16. Participation in security audits and support gap remediation.
  17. Support creation and execution of security awareness and training programs.
  18. Support contract reviews for confidentiality and data protection language.
  19. Support cyber risk process improvements and process automation.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a relevant field; IT Security Management certificate would be an asset.
  2. 5+ years relevant industry experience in implementing cyber risk processes and frameworks.
  3. Other information security designations such as CRISC, CISM, CEH, CISA would be beneficial.
  4. Demonstrated experience in security risk and compliance management.
  5. Practical experience in client contacts and contract review.
  6. Demonstrated experience in supporting the remediation of information security gaps.
  7. Sound knowledge of regulatory compliance and data privacy requirements (GDPR, PIPEDA).
  8. Sound knowledge of internationally recognized information security standards and frameworks (ISO/IEC 27000 family, NIST CSF).

This position requires a strong background in cyber security risk management, with a deep understanding of regulatory compliance and data privacy requirements. A salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year is estimated based on the location and industry standards.
