Job Summary

DXP/HSE is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment, including personal monitors, quad head monitors, and gas detection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and calibrate electronic equipment, including personal and portable monitors, wireless and area detection systems, and environment monitoring units.
  • Provide technical support and sales assistance to HSE customers, including product orientation and training.
  • Dispatch and track monitoring assets for field projects and rentals.
  • Conduct field installations of electronic gas detection monitoring systems and CARMEN systems.
  • Collaborate with Carmen Technicians and Fugitive Emission Technicians for product familiarity.
  • May be required to create sales quotes and work orders in SPIRA.
  • Work collaboratively with other stations and departments on anticipated equipment requirements.
  • Clean and organize the shop area, maintain parts inventory, and perform electronic board repairs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience performing general shop duties, including service and maintenance of equipment
  • H2S Alive and First Aid/CPR certifications
  • Fire extinguisher maintenance experience an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work independently
  • Prior experience and aptitude for working with electronics
  • Prior experience with drilling or service rigs
