Laborer - Construction Assistant

Job Summary

BURNCO LLC is seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team in Red Deer, Alberta. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for performing physical labor while working with and around heavy equipment. This is a temporary, full-time position that requires a Monday through Friday work schedule with overtime, evening, and weekend hours as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Add ice to concrete mixers during evening shifts and perform other general plant duties as assigned.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean and free from clutter and build-up.
  • Follow and promote BURNCO's safety program, ensuring all policies are followed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • Construction and/or concrete plant experience is preferred.
  • Flexible to work shifts that include overtime, evenings, and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently and within a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to take direction to meet assigned responsibilities.
  • Record of working safely on various sites and around heavy equipment.
  • Capable of performing manual physical labor in conditions that may include varying weather and temperature, as well as heavy lifting (over 23+ kg to 50+ lbs).

As a safety-sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that selected candidates successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment testing, including a Drug and Alcohol screen and Fitness to Work testing. BURNCO LLC has a zero-tolerance policy for any Cannabis-derived products, regardless of use frequency or purpose.
