Job Summary

As a highly skilled Carpenter - Journeyman, you will be responsible for working within our restoration division, reporting to the divisional Production Manager. This role requires a valid Journeyman or Red Seal certification and an advanced understanding of carpentry fundamentals in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate hand and power tools, including temporary generators, ladders, table saws, routers, and sanding equipment.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, and assist with demolition and debris disposal.
• Prepare material take-offs and read blueprints, and set up and take down poly containment and drop sheets to accommodate work.
• Apply knowledge of building code and construction math, and install insulation materials and vapour barrier.
• Demonstrate expertise in wood and steel stud framing application, finish carpentry skills, and secure exterior building materials.
• Construct and install secure temporary and permanent partitions, and maintain good housekeeping at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service, work under time constraints, and ensure attention to detail and safeguarding of property and information.
• Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices, follow all safety policies and procedures, and communicate job site conditions and concerns to the appropriate person.

Requirements
• Journeyman or Red Seal certification required.
• 4+ years' experience in the field.
• Knowledgeable in the use and application of tools and materials for job completion.
• Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
• Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per Belfor's vehicle policy.
• Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience.
• Willingness to work evenings, on call, and weekends when requested, and periodic travel may be required.
