Painter and Decorator

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at Ridgetechone Reinforcing Corp. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, and applying paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and repairing cracks and holes
- Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
- Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging as needed
- Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, and other support services
- Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster
- Provide mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees
- Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
- Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees
- Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in painting and decorating
- Ability to work on the road and in a variety of environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor
This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. The language of work is English.
