About the Role

Foilcon is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Design and Implementation: Create physical database designs and operate and administer the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
  • Database Administration: Maintain Oracle and MS SQL servers and backups, provision databases, secure data and access to the Oracle and MS SQL Servers and databases, tune, capacity manage and monitor the databases.
  • Database Scripting: Write database scripts and create tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
  • Documentation and Support: Maintain documentation for operations, provide DR support, restoration and configuration of DR SQL servers and DBs.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience with Windows Server and Red Hat Linux operating systems, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Service, information retrieval packages, query languages, database rules, Incident, Change and Configuration Management procedures.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills, a team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience with distributed data systems, middleware and gateways, researching and implementing cyber security vulnerability remediations, awareness of emerging IT trends and directions, knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
