Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be part of our professional services team, providing electrical engineering and design expertise for assigned project deliverables. This role involves working on various projects within a dynamic team where diverse skills are utilized effectively.

Responsibilities include designing electrical systems for base building, tenant spaces, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure at new and existing facilities. As an individual contributor, this role requires experience, leadership, and mentorship skills to support the electrical engineering team. The candidate will work closely with our CAD department to develop and deliver electrical designs.

Main Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent electrical design projects independently:
- Scope and deliverable management
- CAD deliverables management and staff collaboration
- Communication with authorities having jurisdiction
- Project budgeting and financial management

- Conduct research on feasibility and provide design specifications, operation, and performance analysis for building electrical systems, including power distribution, utilities connection, lighting, controls, emergency power, life-safety systems, fire alarms, and renewable power generation and storage.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, architects, facility managers, and technicians to develop detailed designs for architectural, mechanical, and electrical projects.
- Support the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure with electrical design.
- Provide electrical design for tenant fit-up and mechanical equipment upgrades.
- Offer support from project initiation to completion by providing equipment selections, cost estimates, reports, design specifications, and drawings for building electrical systems, including power distribution, utilities connection, lighting, controls, emergency power, life-safety systems, fire alarms, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and renewable power generation and storage.

Additional Duties
- Support the Professional Services team with mentoring young engineers.
- Develop and improve processes, including quality control, to enhance team efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard specifications, detail libraries, and design best practices within the Professional Services team.
- Share experience and leadership with the team on all electrical deliverables.

Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design/engineering.
- Familiarity with Electrical Codes and Provincial Building Codes.
- Experience in engineering consulting.
- Strong understanding of the engineering environment in the electrical sector.
- Highly meticulous nature, strong attention to detail.
- Engineering and construction experience of building and site electrical, power, lighting, and life safety systems (fire alarm, etc).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to work on several projects concurrently.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other employees.
- Strong organization skills.
- Prior customer interface experience.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computer tools.
- Knowledge of building mechanical systems would be an asset.

Licenses and Accreditation
- Must hold a degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
- Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng. PEO) required.
- Engineering license in other provinces would be an asset.
