Job Summary:

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Yard Operator to join our team. As a Yard Operator, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient yard operations in support of our facility re-refining activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and effectively in a team environment.
  • Operate yard pumping systems and load and offload tanker trucks and rail tank cars.
  • Transfer products between tanks and conduct proper segregation of materials and products.
  • Accurately complete shipping and receiving documentation and document dangerous goods in compliance with TDG regulations.
  • Conduct sampling and testing as required and work within the guidelines of Transport Canada Regulations.
  • Train on unfamiliar processes and equipment and acquire and maintain adequate certifications as required.
  • Follow Environment, Health and Safety policies and procedures and participate in safety meetings and investigations.
  • Provide quality service and ensure quality control of finished products.
  • Maintain safe and clean equipment and work area and perform other operational duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Refinery tank farm or loading/offloading operating experience would be an asset.
  • Forklift experience would be an asset.
