Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

McCain Foods is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Florenceville, Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical processes and systems for our plant operations and expansions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical processes and systems for plant operations and expansions
  • Develop and implement standard operational and working practices
  • Conduct employee appraisals and evaluations
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets
  • Ensure adequate staffing and training of new employees
  • Evaluate new process technologies to improve existing systems and resolve process and safety problems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
  • Professional Engineering License preferred
  • 5 years of progressive engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years directly related to food processing
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Sound fact-based decision making and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results and resolving day-to-day operational challenges
