Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Protocols: Develop and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all employees understand and adhere to safety and compliance rules.
- Lead Site Operations: Execute strong leadership skills to set site-specific strategic goals and objectives, breaking down work, developing schedules, measuring performance, and maintaining the right level of workload for employees.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly challenge site organizational structure, productivity, KPIs, and team competencies to evolve to meet stated and unstated needs.
- Customer Focus: Proactively review site-specific trends and take customer input to connect the dots to identify improvement and develop action plans to address.
- Team Management: Hold team accountable for outcomes, understand on-site skills levels required for current and future state, and work with the team to ensure appropriate competency mix through effective hiring, training, and development opportunities.
- Risk Management: Establish mitigation plans for most likely scenarios with respect to facility, fleet, and resources, evaluate execution, and make changes as necessary.
- Administrative Tasks: Ensure completion and maintenance of records and documentation as required, proficient use of systems to perform duties, and develop and follow preventive maintenance programs for all applicable equipment.
- Business Acumen: Perform all necessary business functions to maintain an efficient and profitable operation, work actively to stay within budgeted guidelines, and maintain a positive relationship with the customer by providing a high level of service and meeting goals set by the customer and Marmon.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to use math, strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
- Safety Record: Proven track record of positive safety performance and ability to meet customer safety requirements.
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Availability: Willing to work overtime and/or nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
- Industrial Experience: Experience in an industrial setting.
- Switching Experience: Experience in an industrial switch yard or experience loading dangerous goods.
- Power Engineering Certificate: 4th Class Power engineering certificate.
- Expert Knowledge: Expert knowledge of switching, transloading, and/or material handling.
- Safety Culture: Demonstrated ability to create a safe culture and dedicated safety mindset.
- Customer Experience: Demonstrated customer experience engineering and relationship management.
- Process Optimization: Demonstrated experience providing process optimization by understanding the desired business outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience creating a culture of continuous improvement and generating innovation.
- Change Management: Demonstrated change management skills.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills to establish and maintain effective team culture in line with Railserve values.
