About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Crisis Response Specialist to join our team in the Emergency Department at Fraser Health. As a member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide expert psychiatric nursing care to patients in crisis, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients in crisis and develop individualized care plans to address their unique needs.
- Collaborate with emergency department staff, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient flow and optimal outcomes.
- Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and education to patients and their families to empower them on their journey to recovery.
- Liaise with community resources and service providers to facilitate transition of care and support continuity of services.
- Document assessments, care plans, and patient outcomes to inform quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing plus current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year recent related experience in an acute or community Mental Health & Substance Use setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
