Dreamline Drywall Ltd. Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and durable finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a seamless finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure a strong bond between drywall sheets and compound.
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring a stable and secure installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, ensuring a smooth finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a strong bond.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate installation.
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete installations safely and efficiently.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to facilitate safe access.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work at heights and on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Work Environment:
  • On-the-road job with varying work schedules.
  • Permanent employment with Dreamline Drywall Ltd.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 30 to 40 hours of work per week.
