Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Determine the size of food portions and costs to ensure efficient food preparation and minimize waste.
    • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to meet the demands of our customers.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
    • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked kitchen and ensure efficient food preparation.
    • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize kitchen operations.
  • Customer Service
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances to ensure their safety and satisfaction.
    • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Support for Diverse Groups
    • Participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities, newcomers, refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
    • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to support the growth and development of diverse groups.
Requirements
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service environment.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
