Senior Financial Accountant Job Description

DLL Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, and timely recording of transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of monthly P&L and balance sheet information, identifying material variances and providing detailed analyses.
  • Account Reconciliation: Prepare account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and remit sales tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Month-End Support: Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure smooth month-end closing activities and daily operations.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the General Ledger using Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics.
  • Accounting Research: Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for various transactions in accordance with IFRS and ASPE.
  • Audit Preparation: Work closely with the Finance team to prepare for auditor visits.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by management, including continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree or diploma in accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in accounting or finance.
  • Skills: Strong reconciliation skills, advanced proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with Word.
  • Software Knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics is preferred.
  • Documentation: Proficiency in documenting processes and controls.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the leasing industry and familiarity with InfoLease is an asset.
  • Remote Work: Ability to work remotely and independently, as well as in a virtual team environment.
