Toronto, Ontario, Canada American International Group, Inc. Full time
About the Role

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is a leading global insurance organization with a rich history of innovation and expertise in risk management. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a critical role in helping businesses and individuals protect their assets and manage risks in today's complex and interconnected world.

Our team is responsible for advising a range of companies on solutions to manage their global risk, leveraging big data to inform business decisions. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Canadian Reserving team as a Actuarial Analyst, providing support for actuarial reserving and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with analysis of the reserving segments, analyzing data and other information to determine loss and expense reserve adequacy using actuarial techniques. Oversee and prepare reserve study documentation, prepare information for financial statements, and evaluate the appropriate IBNR to be booked each quarter. Conduct research, experience studies, and other complex actuarial analysis, develop, review, and analyze changes and improvements to actuarial procedures. Optimize processes to meet business needs, assist in the production of local Canadian and Schedule P reports and exhibits for GAAP and Statutory financials, and work with IT systems personnel to design new reports and data requirements. Check data for accuracy, communicate with pricing actuaries, underwriters, finance, claims, compliance, and legal departments, and complete projects independently with limited supervision.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area, and successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams. A minimum of 3 years or more actuarial experience in property casualty insurance, with reserving experience preferred. Strong analytical, technical, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to take initiative on projects and assignments, seek alternative solutions, and work well both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Excel, Access, VBA, or other related skills is required, as well as strong business and collaboration skills, and the ability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines.
