Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.

The Opportunity:

  • This role is 14-days on / 14-days off.
  • Shifts are days and nights.
  • Open to Canadian Residents.

As a Trades Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting maintenance crews with mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy duty and light duty mobile equipment, or electrical systems underground. You will operate power tools and equipment as required, and transport materials and supplies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others.
  • Semi-skilled and have some knowledge of heavy duty, light duty mobile equipment and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Experience working in an underground mine preferred.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks as required.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Strong communications, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
