What is the Opportunity?

The Royal Bank of Canada's Technology and Operations team is responsible for delivering innovative solutions that enable the bank's business objectives. As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will play a key role in shaping our cloud strategy and ensuring the successful deployment of cloud-based applications. With a focus on scalability, security, and high performance, you will work closely with our development teams to design and implement cloud solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business.

What will you do?

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-based architectures that meet the needs of our business.
  • Collaborate with our development teams to ensure the successful deployment of cloud-based applications.
  • Develop and maintain cloud security and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their adoption within the bank.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to our development teams on cloud-related topics.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on cloud platforms and streaming technologies.
  • Experience with cloud security and compliance, including the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and direction to our development teams.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with Big Data technologies, including Hadoop and Spark.
  • Experience with containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes.
