Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize public health nursing knowledge and expertise to promote and protect the health, well-being, and safety of individuals and communities.
  • Provide a full continuum of services, including prevention, health promotion, and early intervention, to individuals and groups in various community-based settings.
  • Establish and maintain interdisciplinary and community relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Identify client needs and determine necessary interventions using a continuum of public health nursing interventions.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of specialty nursing certificate (20-hour breastfeeding education), BCCDC immunization certificate, and BCCNM certified practice designation in contraceptive management and/or STI, as applicable.
  • Two years' recent, related public health nursing experience, including experience related to the designated client population (prenatal, infant, child, youth, and/or adult).
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a 20-hour breastfeeding certificate, the BCCDC Immunization certificate, and experience working with the 0 to 5 population.
