About Us:

The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre Inc is a reputable organization seeking an exceptional individual for the role of Crisis Intervention Home Support Specialist.

Estimated Salary Range:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum

Job Description:

This position involves providing home-based crisis intervention services to families and children in need. The successful candidate will be required to respond promptly to referrals from community partners, providing support and guidance in areas such as childcare, respite care, parent support, mediation, conflict resolution, emotional support, and recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support to families and children;
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to address the needs of each family;
  • Provide education and training on parenting skills, child development, and crisis management;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and progress;
  • Collaborate with community partners and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support services are provided;
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting children, youth, and families;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of Indigenous and community issues;
  • Computer skills and experience with record-keeping software;
  • Certification in crisis intervention and counseling would be an asset;
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license and access to a vehicle;
  • Current Police and Child Abuse checks;
