About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Child Mental Health Inpatient team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient and family-centered care, collaborating with colleagues to assess, educate, and support patients with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized care to patients with mental health conditions, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
  • Participate in shared governance initiatives to advance care through teaching and learning, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in mental health nursing, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and families.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • 1 year recent psychiatry/mental health experience.
  • Certificate in crisis management an asset.
  • Psychiatry/mental health nursing certificate course is an asset.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Shared Governance an asset.
  • Adult and/or child & adolescent mental health experience an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
