About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Security Technology Specialist to join our team in Burnaby. As a key member of our Subject Matter Expert team, you will play a critical role in the design, assembly, servicing, and maintenance of various electronic systems for healthcare and security applications.

Your Responsibilities
  • Work remotely and on customer sites to install, configure, and troubleshoot various electronic systems, including Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio, Video, Paging, Intercom, Security/Access Control, Telecommunication, and Video Surveillance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert resource for project managers to assist with technical difficulties or issues.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide accurate estimates of required equipment and time for projects.
  • Maintain and complete accurate as-builts and system documentation for projects.
  • Train end-users on system operations and develop training resources for Houle team members.
  • Design and implement solutions to resolve interfacing or intercommunication problems between disparate systems.
  • Commission and configure hardware and software for deployment/installation.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Training in security/healthcare systems and products, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection, or related field.
  • Certification in at least one of the following platforms: Genetec, Kantech, Lenel, Milestone, Ascom Telligence, GuardRFID, or Sonitor.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in a similar role, with technical expertise in related systems. Electronics background is an asset.
  • Experience with integration and middleware engines in the security/healthcare product space is an asset.
  • Familiarity with SNMP, BACNET IP, MODBUS, and other platform-agnostic messaging protocols is an asset.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python, and T-SQL is an asset.
  • Knowledge of web-based technologies, protocols, and languages/mechanisms, including API, REST, SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, ISS, Web servers, JSON, XML, and SQL is an asset.
  • Knowledge of various networking protocols and technologies.
