We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Woodrose Woodworking Inc.
About the RoleThe Cabinetmaker will be responsible for designing, building, and installing custom cabinets and furniture for our clients. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build custom cabinets and furniture using various materials, including wood, MDF, and laminate.
- Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
- Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
- Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on woodworking techniques and best practices.
- Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made and ensure accuracy and quality.
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and visualize projects.
- Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety protocols and regulations.
- 5 years or more of experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
- Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of woodworking techniques and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
