Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Commercial Driver Apprentice. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting experienced drivers in the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced drivers in the collection of waste and recyclables
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop commercial driving skills
  • Operate a commercial refuse/recycling vehicle in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks
  • Communicate with dispatch and route manager to ensure efficient route operations
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid G-class driver's license
  • Registration within 3 months of initial hire with a recognized local driving school to obtain a DZ license
  • Completion of DZ driver training within 12 months of initial hire date
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid S.I.N
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
What We Offer
  • $27.68 per hour
  • WM will cover the cost of a driving course from a recognized driving school to a maximum of $2600.00
